Early Leak Of Fixer Poster Has Surprise Twist!

There’s been much discussion and strong reactions from fans about Fixer’s album cover designs. Now an early leak of the Fixer poster raises more questions.

fixer-poster-leakThe general consensus from fans is that the mirror imaging effect looks “weird”, “makes Akina look different from her real image” and is “unnecessary.”

Personally, for bizarre reasons, I prefer the fuglier cover for the Normal Edition version (bold move by the way) cos she looks like an alien and it reminds me of a particular image in Fushigi’s lyric booklet but I digress.

Four days ahead of the official release, a snapshot of the poster of Fixer has been shared on our closed Facebook Group (make sure to join us if you are not a member as it’s the only legit FB group in my opinion with very active International fans, robust discussions and fervent sharing)… the reflective glare aside, you can see that Akina’s image is her full face sans mirror effect, which we can all agree makes for one heckavu pretty cover!

This raises a couple of questions immediately – So why didn’t she use this for the actual cover? Is there more that meets the face?

Are the mirrored faces a visual result of a slip-over plastic album cover sleeve (removing it reveals the full face? Now that would be clever, wouldn’t it?) Did Akina decide to do the mirrored faces as an artistic statement, a concept which shall be revealed when we lay our hands on the album and digest the tracks?

So many questions. The anticipation is killing me. 4 days feels like an eternity. I can’t remember the last time a wait felt soooo looong. But the good thing is they will be airplaying another track from Fixer on the radio later tonight. What a Christmas treat for fans! Which reminds me…. here’s wishing all Akina fans a Merry Berry Kissmas!

Akina fanboy since 14. Still undecided which are his top ten favourite Akina tracks as it's mission impossible. Digs "Everlasting Love" a whole lot more than the average Akina fan.
